In January of 2020 I premiered a piece at a small experimental music showcase up in Vermont, called (merge) tornasway. The purpose of the piece was to “merge” us back to a better place in the multiverse. I didn’t actually believe this would have any real-world effects, it was just a piece of music, and I’m very anti-magical thinking generally — nevertheless, the three years in between then and now have been deeply transformational, individually and collectively, for those of us who lived through them. Now we are here, and it seems like the beginning of the “after” — an epilogue and a prologue — and I would suggest that we all need to participate in making it a happily ever, for all of us, together. So you may notice your mind completing some lyrical phrases, and that’s intentional. All our minds need to be part of the world we are making together.
